Providing Voltage Regulation For Vital Paediatric Care

PRODUCT: AVR 3x600
HISTORY: December 2015

As part of Japan’s commitment to improving health facilities in the developing world, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has committed JP¥1.423billion (US$ 12million) to improvement to the Children’s Health Institute in Karachi, Pakistan.

The institute currently receives paediatric patients from North Karachi; serving a child population of 1.8 million, approximately 10% of the total city’s inhabitants. However, the exiting setup could only provide limited medical services due to the lack of facilities and equipment.

PECT, the local representatives for JICA, initiated discussions with solution providers to address the voltage issues at the site. After detailed analysis of all the proposals, Sollatek was selected for its wide input range and solid state technology; complimenting the state of the art facilities being installed in the institute.

A detailed power survey of site found the Sollatek AVR3x600 was the ideal solution for the erratic power problem.

Tanveer Siddiqui, Managing Director of PECT says “Sollatek provided us with the best solution and customer support. The specialist medical equipment in the hospital requires a very stable voltage and the solid state AVR does just that providing a regulation of 4%. We are really pleased.”

Ian Walker, Customer Support Manager explained “From the initial shock of the severe poverty in the area, you realise how important this hospital is for these children. With accessibility to modern equipment, this hospital is providing the best medical attention. It is so rewarding and satisfying to be part of such a worthy cause.”
